Next to South Africa, the second largest gold producing country is the United States. The third biggest country that produces gold after these countries is Australia. These are the worlds top most places that produce gold today. Even Canada is at par with Australia in several ways. So, these countries rule the markets where gold is traded on an everyday basis, and this is where you find gold today. There may be a lot more gold in Africa, but those places are almost inaccessible , and cannot be reached.
